Alaçam Amethyst from Turkey

Alaçam Amethyst is a distinctive purple variety of quartz from the Alaçam Amethyst Mine near Dursunbey in Balıkesir Province, Türkiye. The crystals occur in cavities within rhyolite-dacite volcanic rock and commonly form dense, fine druzy surfaces. Their rose-violet, plum, and deeper purple coloration results from iron-related color centers activated by natural irradiation.
