Tabasco Agate Micro-Geodes from Zacatecas, Mexico
Tabasco Agates, also known in the trade as Illianites, are exceptionally small geodes collected near the town of Tabasco in Zacatecas, Mexico. Each nodule contains a thin shell of banded chalcedony surrounding a central cavity commonly lined with clear druzy quartz. When divided into a matched pair, the two halves reveal a mirrored view of the geode’s internal formation.
