Tabasco Agate Matched Pair — Colorless Micro-Geode, Mexico
Tabasco Agate — Colorless Matched Micro-Geode Pair (8 g)
Clarity • Reflection • Quiet Balance
This matched Tabasco Agate pair from Zacatecas, Mexico displays a soft, translucent chalcedony interior surrounding a small druzy quartz cavity. Unlike many Tabasco agates that show strong colored rinds, this specimen reveals a pale, almost colorless agate structure, allowing the internal mineral layers and crystal center to be seen with unusual clarity.
When the original nodule was split, the mirrored halves exposed the interior growth pattern of this micro-geode. Subtle banding and a delicate druzy pocket create a minimalist but fascinating natural structure that highlights the geological process behind these tiny volcanic formations.

- Stone Family: Chalcedony (Agate variety) with Quartz Druzy
- Mineral Classification: Natural Chalcedony and Quartz Mineral Specimen
- Hardness: Approx. 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale
Geological Notes
Tabasco agates formed when volcanic gases created tiny cavities within cooling lava flows. Over time, silica-rich mineral solutions circulated through the rock and gradually deposited layers of chalcedony along the cavity walls. In many nodules, the final stage of crystallization produced a delicate druzy quartz center.
Because these nodules are extremely small, they are often described as among the world's smallest natural geodes. When cut and paired, they reveal a miniature cross-section of mineral growth inside volcanic rock.
Specimen Condition
This specimen shows visible surface wear from natural formation and cutting. The outer rind is largely absent, exposing more of the translucent chalcedony interior. One half also contains a small stabilization repair to ensure the integrity of the piece. These characteristics are reflected in the pricing and clearly visible in the photographs.
Energetic Notes
Agate is traditionally associated with grounding and balance, while quartz crystals are linked with clarity and amplification. The pale chalcedony tones of this specimen emphasize a calm, reflective quality that pairs well with quiet observation, journaling, or contemplative work.
Placement Ideas
This micro-specimen displays nicely on the included acrylic stand and fits easily into a curio cabinet, desk display, or miniature mineral collection. The subtle coloration invites closer viewing, where the druzy quartz center and delicate chalcedony structure become more apparent.
Mystic Parcel Notes
This Tabasco Agate pair was selected for its unusual colorless chalcedony appearance and clear internal crystal structure. Natural mineral specimens may include variations in banding, internal inclusions, or surface texture that reflect their natural geological formation.
Included: Each pair comes with the acrylic specimen display stand shown in the photographs.
